Fortunately, there are people constantly keeping track of page changes, and they promptly remove such vandalism as soon as it is detected. Citation is also very helpful. If you doubt the validity of a statement within an article, you can usually check its citation and go to the original source of information for that statement. In general, Wikipedia is a reliable and astoundingly vast source of knowledge.
